If your the type that camps in various seasons and climates, you might have discovered that it can sometime be difficult to select gear that is suitable for year-round camping activity. Sleeping bags can be one of those difficult gear purchases. There are so many sleeping bag selections in the lower temperature ratings that the challenge is finding a good sleeping bag in the mid range category, say around the 30-60 degree tent camping range. Sure you can opt to purchase a low temperature rated sleeping bag to be used year round, but you may actually sweat in the bag in the late spring months, and during the summer, you may actually sleep on top of the bag rather than in it. And with higher temperature rated bags you could be in for a cold night once temperatures drop below 50 degrees.
Now I like buying outdoor gear as much as anyone else, but I really don’t like having to buy two of everything. But sometimes you just have to make that purchase for the second item that is more suitable for the other half of the season, or in other weather conditions. And when you have to make that second purchase we all have a tendency to look a little harder for the right deal. That’s why I really like the Sierra Designs Shavero. It’s a good quality bag at the right price for a warmer climate bag.
It’s a good choice in summer time bags! It’s made of down with a polyester shell and lining. So it’s a little lighter and more compact. And if it gets wet your not going to freeze. It’ll keep you nice and snug down to about 45 degrees and you will not sweat your behind off in the warmer months.
